- WITHOUT SENSODYNE
- Nerves within the tooth are triggered by hot and cold due to worn enamel or receeding gums.
- WITH SENSODYNE
- Sensodyne creates a barrier around the nerve and with regular brushing builds long-lasting protection.
How does Sensodyne work?
Beneath your tooth enamel is a layer called dentin, which includes thousands of microscopic tubules. When the nerve endings within these tubules are exposed to triggers like cold drinks, you may feel a short, sharp pain.
Sensodyne products contain potassium nitrate which works by calming nerves to stop the sensitivity associated with trigger activities, like eating ice cream. When used every day, Sensodyne relieves sensitive teeth by building a barrier that protects against the pain caused by hot, cold, sweet, acidic and other contact triggers and by keeping the pain from coming back.
Sensodyne toothpastes also contain fluoride to help combat tooth decay and are formulated to help keep your gums clean and your breath fresh. They can be used twice daily as your regular toothpaste, for oral health and for the prevention of sensitive teeth. Sensodyne is clinically proven to provide protection against sensitivity.
